I have been working in the financial services industry for over 13 years, starting out as a cashier for Natwest and rising through the ranks to manage my own branch by the age of 21. After nearly 3 years of branch management, I decided I wanted a closer interaction with clients and also challenge myself by moving into the financial advice sector. I passed my Mortgage Advice exams, and after spending a year advising solely on NatWest mortgages, I decided to move to John Charcol, a Mortgage Brokerage where I would be able to advise on products from across the market. In 2017 and after 3 years with John Charcol where I gained invaluable experience and many important contacts from within the mortgage industry, I felt it was time to take the next step in my career and go self-employed. Charles Derby Mortgage Bureau were able to offer me the exciting opportunity of joining their network of highly skilled self-employed mortgage brokers, whereby I get all the benefits of running my own business, but also having the security of an established company. Being self-employed has afforded me the flexibility to give my clients a service which meets their varying requirements, whether that's coming to their home one evening after dinner, accompanying them to a house viewing, or just meeting them for a coffee on their lunch break. I live just outside of London, on the border of Essex and Hertfordshire, in the historic town of Waltham Abbey with my wife Emma, and son Harvey. When I’m not talking mortgages, I enjoy travelling and watching/playing as much sport as possible.
